Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. Whoever alleviates [the situation of] one in dire straits who cannot repay his debt, Allah will alleviate his lot in both this world and in the Hereafter. Whoever conceals [the faults of] a Muslim, Allah will conceal [his faults] in this life and the Hereafter. (Muslim)

While their travel is funded, they face the immediate challenge of lacking basic essentials like safe accommodation, healthcare, and food. This situation presents an urgent need for support to ensure these families can start their new life with dignity and stability.
Who needs to pay Zakat?
Zakat is obligatory on:
- One who has reached the age of puberty and is of sound mind
- Who are financially stable and owns assets that are subject to Zakat
- Their wealth has crossed the Nisab (threshold)
- They have owned the asset(s) for a full lunar year.
